In the past, the wrestlers had to travel by themselves from place to place and often they had to face wild situations during the journey. Most of the wrestlers have shared their experiences and stories they go through throughout their career journey. But back luck, all stories were not interesting.
A Strange Roadside Experience
John "Bradshaw" Layfield shared his experience in an episode of Something To Wrestle that his road journey along with Ron Simmons, and Teddy Long is marked by an incident in which they were ethnically profiled by a police officer.
He elaborated the story and said that Long was scared of policemen and was asked to have a temperance test. He further added that he recorded their profile and pulled them out. But he failed the test even though there was nothing to drink. Meanwhile Simmons told Long to question police and that was the point when police got that he was drinking.
Layfield claimed that when the police said I smelt alcohol Ron said ‘Oh, now you're a f--king Bloodhound?’ At that point, he said, he thought they were going to jail. He further explained that he tried to explain to police that he was drunk but Simmons was not drunk but instead he accidently said he was also drinking. After that police put down his gun and pointed towards Simmons and the veteran gave the other two advice to escape through forest.
Moreover, Layfield said that the police officer gave three fake tickets to Long. Teddy then drove vehicle in the wrong direction and finally they reached home the next morning at 6 O’Clock.
The story seems interesting and people enjoyed it. This road experience shows the iconic situations and unforgettable moments that wrestlers had to experience during their travel from show to show.
