Big E is a top WWE superstar and a former WWE Champion. He has been on an indefinite hiatus since he suffered from a severe neck injury. Big E acquired fractures in C1 and C6 vertebrae owing to the injury at SmackDown match back to almost two years from now.

Despite such a serious injury, Big E has been in view in WWE by contributing to it through hosting and participating in several WWE shows. His journey of recovery has been tracked for quite some time now by the fans and wrestling fraternity, and with periodic updates, glimpses are obtained.

Recent Developments and WWE Raw Appearance Big E made his most high-profile onscreen appearance in more than a year when WWE Raw celebrated the 10-year anniversary of The New Day on December 2, 2024. That was his first in-ring since the injury occurred. He came into the segment attempting to reunite with longtime partners Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods and wished to manage them.

But in a stunning turn of events, Kingston and Woods turned him down, saying that he had abandoned them when they got injured, then promptly threw him out of the group to turn heel for the first time since 2016.

This development of the storyline has kept fans abuzz as they begin to speculate about Big E's future and that of The New Day in general. A lot of nice things were spoken about in the very emotional segment, and how much was said with that much storytelling in such a deep fashion showed just how intricate the dynamics of this faction could be.

Health Status and Future Prospects On his health, Big E has given updates that although he feels great and doesn't have any pain issues, his neck has healed fibrously without the formation of new bone. This medical condition has brought doubts as to whether he will ever return to in-ring action. In August 2023, he disclosed that doctors had told him not to wrestle again, owing to the risks involved with his neck injury.

Big E himself seems to have come to terms with this prognosis, stating that he is open to exploring new opportunities beyond wrestling.

Up to date, there was no announcement regarding his return to the active competition for Big E. His most recent appearance in WWE Raw really suggested that he probably would remain very much involved within WWE programming away from wrestling-add to their storylines perhaps, taking up a managerial or even ambassadorial role in some instances.
