Joey Ryan on Nearly Signing with the WWE

Joey Ryan is an indie wrestling veteran and he is one of the most popular indie wrestlers in the US. He has a huge fan base and is known for his very suggestive moves in the ring with female wrestlers. He can get extremely vulgar at times at time and that may disgust some people.

Joey Ryan was recently on the Talk is Jericho podcast. Ryan spoke about the WWE and his audition. He also spoke about Impact Wrestling struggling with their finances. "I guess the closest I ever came [to signing with WWE] was when I got let go from TNA/Impact," Ryan explained.

"TNA let me go because I was told it was budget cuts. They were filming in Orlando, Florida every week and Eric Bischoffdecided that they wanted to take the show on the road, and run different arenas, and they weren't drawing well at all, and just bleeding money.

At that time they didn't resign RVD, they didn't resign Matt Morgan, and they let a bunch of us and Taeler Hendrix, Christian York go because they were bleeding money, and I mean till this day” It is true that Impact Wrestling actually had some of the biggest wrestling stars working for them at a time. Those days are long gone and it is the WWE that signs most of Impact’s top stars these days.
