The 2025 edition of the women's Royal Rumble match was very spectacular and ended with Charlotte Flair's victory. The former world champion has shown that she is in excellent shape despite her long absence from the ring, considering that her last on-screen appearance was in December 2023.
Due to a serious injury sustained during her match against Asuka on SmackDown, 'The Queen' was out for more than a year and it was feared that the continuation of her career could be at risk. Charlotte once again proved that she is a legend in this business and worked hard to return, announcing that she would be attending the 2025 Royal Rumble a week before the event.
The women's royal brawl also hosted the return of Alexa Bliss, who had been absent for a long time for a variety of reasons and who signed a new deal with WWE just before the prestigious PLE which was held in Indianapolis on February 1st.
Fans would have expected the appearance of more legends in the women's royal brawl, instead the company preferred to enhance the talent of the young NXT athletes. The latter seem destined to enter the main roster as early as 2025, which is why WWE has fired several superstars in recent days.
Update on Trish Stratus' future
The only legend who participated in the women's royal brawl was Trish Stratus (who had only participated in this contest in 2018). The WWE Universe has been wondering for days if her appearance is destined to remain an isolated event or if the federation has something in mind for her future.
According to reports from 'Fightful Select', the Stamford’s company has plans for Trish and it cannot be ruled out that she may appear on-screen more frequently in the near future.
It is rumored that Stratus could be one of the protagonists of the next WWE PLE - Elimination Chamber - which will take place in her home city (Toronto) on March 1st.
