In recent weeks, superstars and insiders have been discussing John Cena's farewell tour a lot. As everyone knows by now, the 16-time world champion will say goodbye to professional wrestling in 2025 but - unlike other legends of this business - he will not be the protagonist of a single match, but will participate in numerous events during this year.

The champion from Boston has already been present at the Royal Rumble, in which he tried to win the royal brawl for the third time in his career to equal Stone Cold Steve Austin's all-time record.

John came within a hair's breadth of this historic triumph, but was defeated by Jey Uso who scored the most shocking victory in Rumble history.

The leader of the 'Cenation' will try to redeem himself at Elimination Chamber – the company's next PLE – which will be staged in Toronto on March 1st. It is no mystery that WWE's intention is to organize a match between Cena and Cody Rhodes for the world title at WrestleMania 41, in which fans will understand if John will reach 17 world titles by detaching Ric Flair.

Champions such as CM Punk and Seth Rollins have thrown a few digs at the 16-time world champion, who would be receiving privileged treatment from WWE precisely by virtue of the fact that he will retire at the end of the year.

In a long interview with 'CBS Sports', wrestling legend The Undertaker said that an icon like John Cena deserves such a farewell tour: "I think the way John decided to say goodbye to this business is just great, but it's not something that all athletes deserve. Cena definitely deserves it, because he has been the iconic face of WWE for a long time.

I think the main legends of the federation should think about retiring in the same way as John."

The 'Deadman' also addressed CM Punk: "He is among the performers who deserve a farewell tour, no doubt."
