WWE fans were recently treated to a heartwarming surprise. WWE made a surprise announcement that Lex Luger would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2025. Cody Rhodes surprised Lex Luger with the announcement when he went to Diamond Dallas Page's (DDP) gym to train with him as DDP assisted Luger in his rehabilitation.
Cad has not had much of a break in life with medical conditions like a spinal stroke in 2007, yet being half paralyzed has never stopped Luger. WWE released a clip of Rhodes surprising Lex at the facilities and he had a priceless response. He hugged Cody and DDP and in so doing became a legend of the sport in fans' eyes.
A Legendary Career Honored
Throughout his career, Lex had his fair share of intrigue. "The total package," as he became known, he stunned onlookers with his stunning physique and with thunderous performances. His in-ring skills were unmatched; he captured the United States Title for a record 523 days.
Luger battled with the best in business in NWA, WCW, and WWE. Perhaps one of his greatest performances was on 4th of July in 1993 when he body-slammed Yokozuna on USS Intrepid. This is one of history's most breathtaking moments and fans to this day talk about it.
In reality, Luger's ring accomplishments are unparalleled. Even more impressive is life outside of it. Bedridden for years, Luger is now standing on his own unaided. His sheer resolve to achieve very demanding objectives has made him a beacon of hope to numerous fans around the globe.
His road to recovery was applauded by Triple H who described him as “a true inspiration both in and out of the ring.” Fans across the globe applauded him after he made his announcement for all that he has done for wrestling.
A few days prior to WrestleMania 41, he will be awarded with the rightful honor in the Hall of Fame as he is inducted. He is most deserving of this title and now, his amazing career and unbroken spirit will be forever recorded in WWE history. Congratulations to him!
