Although he has made the history of this business and is popular all over the world, John Cena has also received numerous criticisms during his long career. The 16-time world champion has had a very fluctuating relationship with the WWE Universe, having been 'imposed' as the symbolic face of the company for about 20 years and having never changed the connotation of his character.

There is no doubt that John was the best babyface in the history of the Stamford’s federation and remained committed to this ideal until 2025, the last year of his legendary career. During his farewell tour underway this year, the Boston ace shocked the world with a sensational heel turn during Elimination Chamber.

Triple H and WWE management are trying to make Cena's last year as unpredictable as possible for fans, as evidenced by his surprising loss to Jey Uso in the decisive stages of the Royal Rumble match in early February.

At Elimination Chamber, the leader of the 'Cenation' had respected the odds before shocking everyone with his attack on Cody Rhodes.

'The American Nightmare' will be his opponent at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas in a month and it is reasonable to expect a truly memorable moment, destined to remain forever etched in the history of WWE and wrestling in general.

Jake Roberts slams John Cena

In recent weeks, Cena's heel turn has been the main topic of discussion on web among fans and insiders.

According to wrestling legend Jake Roberts, WWE management chose the right moment for this sensational turning point.

“It’s time for it for a couple reasons. Number one, Cody’s your top babyface now. So you gotta get those other guys out of there, so he’s the only one. To turn him heel, he’s gonna wind up putting Cody over, which is what they want” – he said on the latest edition of ‘The Snake Pit’ podcast.

At the same time, Roberts also took a shot at Cena’s legacy: “He just doesn’t have that magic in him, man. His interviews are okay, and his work was good, very good. But he didn’t have that oomph. He had to work really hard.”
