Almost no one expected WWE to be able to come out so brilliantly from the management of Vince McMahon, who had led the company for a very long time making it the giant we know today. It is no secret that the product had entered a phase of stagnation during the last period with Vince in charge and that some of Vince's behaviors had created serious problems behind the scenes.

Beyond the scandals that have hit him in the last two and a half years and forced him away from this business, it is a known fact that most of the stars on the roster and employees were no longer happy to work for McMahon.

When Triple H became the new head of the creative team, WWE's resurgence finally began, and it's impossible to deny that some really excellent work has been done over the past few years. WWE has returned to being the leading wrestling federation in the world without any discussion, the rivalry with AEW has ceased to exist and 2025 marked the beginning of a new era for this business thanks to the well-known agreement with a platform with Netflix.

In addition, The Game has enhanced the talent of numerous young athletes who had not made a brilliant impact when McMahon was there. One of the most striking examples is certainly Gunther, who has had a very impressive rise in the last year to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Gunther talks about Vince McMahon

On the latest edition of ‘The Ariel Helwani Show’, ‘The Ring General’ reflected on working under Vince McMahon: “I was under Vince for four months and it was a strange work experience. The direction was very confusing. It was hard to figure out what was expected of me.”

He continued: “I’ve always been a Hunter guy. That’s been my whole career in WWE. My directions came from Hunter.”

The current world champion will have to defend his title from Jey Uso's assault at WrestleMania 41.
