WWE superstar Zelina Vega utilized her professional victory to dedicate it to her deceased father Michael Angel Trinidad who lost his life after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

WWE Women’s United States Championship win on the show SmackDown took her to the 9/11 Memorial in New York City where she laid her championship belt side by side with the name of her father Michael Angel Trinidad that was engraved there.

She laid her championship belt alongside an engraved tribute to her late father and did it while fulfilling her promise of telling him about her victory.

This physicality is astounding in her social media update where she described her feelings: “It’s kinda mind-blowing honestly to be able to see this now physically.

I feel accomplished because I talked about my commitment to hit this milestone many times. I came here with a good feeling but the moment really became real once I got here. Even though this moment feels like the most intimate vehicle I can share with him I am willing to do it gladly.

A Champion's Tribute Beyond the Ring

She achieved this feat because of her father constantly fostered her interest in wrestling in her early life.

Her father inspired both of them towards that shared passion for wrestling through the trips he took with his kids to WWE shows and thus led her towards the sport. This professional achievement brought in with it the win in honor of the one who inspired her pursuit in wrestling.

Upon the memorial ceremony's completion. During the FaceTime call, Vega allowed her mother to share how Vega brightened her day and life. My life."
