The 2025 season is showing how much John Cena loves this business. In the last year of his legendary career, the ace from Boston - who will say goodbye to professional wrestling at the end of 2025 - is not just doing a few matches every now and then, but has filled his schedule with events and does not intend to slow down even after WrestleMania 41.
The leader of the 'Cenation' celebrated his 17th world title at the 'Showcase of the Immortals', dethroning Cody Rhodes and proving that he can still compete at the highest level. When you consider that his farewell tour began with a shocking loss at the Royal Rumble in Indianapolis – where he was surprised by Jey Uso when he was on the verge of victory – there is no doubt that John was able to react like a true champion.
Cena just defended his title against Randy Orton at WWE Backlash last Saturday and his next opponent could still be 'The American Nightmare', who looks set to return to the ring very soon and could have his revenge at Money in the Bank next month.
Update on John Cena's schedule
A few hours ago, WWE made John's next on-screen appearances official.
In particular, the 17-time world champion will be present on Saturday Night's Main Event on May 24, will participate in SmackDown on May 30, will be the protagonist in Money in the Bank on June 7 and will also appear on Raw in Phoenix two days later (June 9).
The leader of the 'Cenation' will be present at 'WWE Clash' in Paris on August 31st and at the huge event scheduled in Perth – Australia – on October 11th. The final match of his career is expected to take place in Boston – his hometown – on December 13, but there is no certainty yet.
Many fans are wondering if Cena is destined to keep his belt until the end of his career, but it is not the most likely hypothesis. He is expected to lose the world title by the end of the summer, before ending his career as a babyface.
