The Undertaker, legend of wrestling and famous by his durability in the ring, had a health scare in real life recently. After WrestleMania 41, he had emergency heart surgery, because of an undiagnosed condition.

This was revealed in one of the episodes of the podcast, Six Feet Under, where his wife, Michelle McCool, told the devastating experience. The two had just come back to their home in Texas following the induction of McCool in the WWE Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, where she was inducted by The Undertaker. but their joy was brief.

The following morning, they ran to the hospital at 6 a.m. Doctors found out that he had been experiencing no symptoms of chronic atrial fibrillation (AFib) a severe heart rhythm condition. McCool remembered times when he was strangely out of breath, although they never thought it could be a heart problem.

Medical examination showed that his heart ejection fraction which is an indicator of the efficiency of the heart to pump blood was dangerously low at 30%.

Normally, the healthy ejection fraction is noted to be between 50 percent and 70 percent. Cardioversion procedure was carried out by doctors to regain normal heart rhythm, however, it lasted. He went back to AFib within days, thus causing a stressful time to him and McCool.

The Undertaker has since stabilised after the fright. Even in Vegas, he admitted that he "was not meant to be here" alluding to previous medical recommendation. This accident will be featured in his lengthy list of health problems; in his career, he has had a lot of surgeries; he had hip replacements, surgeries on his knees and shoulders.
