Randy Orton has won the hearts of WWE fans once more as he returned to the ring. Orton returned in huge form on Friday Night SmackDown after a five-week hiatus after losing to John Cena during Backlash to compete in the semifinals of the coveted King of the Ring tournament.
The exciting 4-way match against LA Knight, Carmelo Hayes, and Aleister Black as a result of which he emerged as the victor demonstrated his sustainable strength and the start of a possible 15th reigning world title.
The comeback of Orton was not only a matter of winning matches, but it resulted in the rekindling of the old feud involving Cena, giving even more spice to the evolving plot.
The rivalry between the two legends has got fans on their toes looking forward to their next match, especially after the King of the Ring tournament where the winner would have a chance to take the title at SummerSlam.
Backstage Insights on Orton
In the backstage, the WWE supremos are detailing out the path for Orton to reclaim the throne. It was with anticipation that Orton made his comeback at the Survivor Series 2023 after being away from the circuit due to a back problem for an 18-month absence.
The way he featured in his next Raw and SmackDown indicated that WWE was determined to see him back in the major stories.
The writers of WWE under the leadership of Paul 'Triple H' Levesque are said to be planning to refresh the character of Orton, perhaps with a new form of entrance music to mark his new dedicated pretence.
He is set to participate in high-profile feuds and possible feudoers include Kevin Owens and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.
His current antics (staging an attack on Cena after WWE WrestleMania 41, and attempting to win the Undisputed WWE Championship in the Backlash event) show that he is keen on regaining his place at the top of the professional wrestling chain of WWE.
He never won against Cena, but it is a final match and fans are asking what next is there about The Viper.
