Roman Reigns has had to take some nasty blows in recent weeks – most notably at WrestleMania 41 – when he was betrayed by Paul Heyman who propitiated 'The Visionary' Seth Rollins' victory in the main event of 'Night 1'.

The former world champion took a break from WWE and hasn't appeared since the Showcase of the Immortals in Las Vegas, needing to recharge his batteries at this stage of the season after making more appearances than expected between the end of 2024 and the beginning of the new year.

The feeling is that Triple H and the WWE management want to preserve the body of a veteran like Roman in view of the second part of the season, in which he will certainly be the protagonist. Most analysts are convinced that the WWE return of the 'Tribal Chief' is now very close, considering that summer has just begun and there are several major events in the near future.

Update on Reigns' status

Fans dream of a dream match between Reigns and John Cena – who is going through the last year of his legendary career – for the world title at 2025 SummerSlam this summer.

On the latest edition of the 'NotSam Wrestling' podcast, Sam Roberts analyzed Roman's prospects in detail in the second part of 2025: "Roman Reigns would have to come back soon. And then he'd have to explain why he's going after John Cena at SummerSlam. The last time we saw Roman, he got laid out by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. So for Roman to come back and be like, 'I'm back for John Cena,' it's almost like..okay. I mean, it could happen. He wants the title. He hates John Cena.”

Last week, rumors spread that TKO would be willing to reduce the annual salary of the former world champion (who would earn $15 million in total).

Reigns is still the highest-paid star on the roster, despite losing the world title to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL last year.
