Dustin Rhodes, aka mysterious Goldust, has just dropped a bomb that is reaching the nerve endings of the wrestling fan base, just like that: dazzling character is officially over and done with, forever.
Recently, in an exchange of tweets, one of the fans suggested that he should come back to WWE to form a tag team with his brother Cody. Dustin’s response? easy, simple, and clear: "Nah. Why? Goldust went to the extent of everything imaginable. I was glad I got the role and did with them what most people can only fantasize about. Goldust is out of the business. 1000% happiest I have ever been here in @AEW”.

This tweet has served as the motto of fans who support The Natural into the next stage of his career at AEW.
Outside of the tweets, Rhodes has also publicly professed his affections towards AEW in interviews, including one with Yahoo Sports, and there is no doubt that the former champion does not want to end his career in Stamford but in Jacksonville.
He even closed the fan speculation of a surprise WWE return, claiming AEW is “the only company I have ever felt respected”. Even the same interview was a portrait of a proud veteran, who is in his home, where he can be himself and raise young talent.

A New Chapter in AEW
Dustin Rhodes now performs under his actual name, and he is soaking up his position in AEW and ROH where he is the CHAMP of ROH Tag Team and Six-Man Tag Team.
He has also threatened to pursue a last world title to cap his career emotional send-off on an already long career that has spanned almost 40 years. In the future, he is already planning an emotional happy ending: probably an epic pay-per-view exit, a final victory, and a touching promo to top it off.
To the fans of WWE who have lost the glitzy, avant-garde identity of Goldust, cheer up: Dustin claims he is living the life of his dreams coming back in full circle as Dustin Rhodes. This is not the end, this is an evolution.
