One of the most powerful wrestlers in WWE, the women's division, Nia Jax has been under the limelight of speculation recently.

Even though her official return to SmackDown in mid-March this year was a major hit as she surprised the titleholder Tiffany Stratton in an ambush during the May 2 episode of the show, the 40-year-old wrestler has not been seen on any of the episodes since the Elimination Chamber in Toronto on March 1.

On the same night, she partnered with Candice LeRae and lost a hard-contested match to Stratton and Trish Stratus. She was put on the WWE inactive list in the following weeks after she was not yet medically cleared, and that raised concerns among fans that her days in the ring could be over soon.

However, Jax herself has been swift to put the record straight. In the first week of April, she vehemently dismissed the rumors in a humorous social media post that read, "Nope she is not, I asked her," and it put the rumors to rest. After that, her comeback has been the topic of rumors all over the internet.

In the meantime, WWE discreetly confirmed that she remains out of action medically, but is sticking to the internal clearance guidelines before returning her to the squared circle.

A Return in Sight?

The past few weeks have featured Jax teasing here and there on social media and creating smoldering speculation about a comeback with cryptic messages before Raw and SmackDown shows. Such strategies came to fruition on June 1, when she made a surprise return in SmackDown, not as a competitor, but as a thief of the limelight.

She performed a shocking high-flying maneuver in a triple threat match against Naomi and Jade Cargill, and she cheekily said afterward, “Rey Mysterio is my dad,” and fans went wild.

The biggest question today is however what is next in the storyline of Jax in WWE. Her collision with Tiffany Stratton after health approval is made is expected by many. With the Queen of the Ring tournament hitting it off during Night of Champions on June 28, Jax is probably being set up to play a big role in it.
