WWE is said to be considering making a very daring new signing to their never-ending talent pool Psycho Clown, one of the most recognizable lucha libre stars in AAA. The outlandish character has caught the attention of WWE after his high-profile performance at the recent Worlds Collide event as part of a new initiative to diversify the on-screen characters in the company.
At Worlds Collide on June 7, Psycho Clown, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Pagano were in a wild 6-man tag team match against Legado Del Fantasma of SmackDown. Although he came with a lot of intensity and spectacle, including dives and power moves, they were eventually defeated by the core faction of WWE. It was an exciting debut, energetic, and it was closed by Legado Del Fantasma taking advantage to win.
A Masked Marvel with Marketing Muscle
According to the sources of WrestleVotes Radio, WWE is not only impressed by the ring presence of Psycho Clown but also by his marketable image.
He has been active since 2007, and his stage costume, colorful mask, and unique style of performing make him a remarkable figure a person WWE wants to add a new taste to its content. As the acquisition of AAA by WWE is projected to conclude at the end of 2025, it is increasingly being speculated that the company will bring more lucha libre talent into the main roster.
Such televised appearances as the surprise appearance at an NXT taping in early June raise fan enthusiasm and anticipation of future stops by Psycho Clown. Such appearances may be a forerunner to a full signing or at least the appearance at least on a regular basis under the WWE banner combined with effective promotion by WWE.
Should WWE deliver on this, Psycho Clown may well end up moving up to Raw or SmackDown without passing through NXT at all. That would reflect the new decisions involving Mr. Iguana and others, and WWE seems ready to accelerate international talents and use the diversity of talent globally.
