John Cena is going through his WWE farewell tour with the utmost seriousness, trying to make as many appearances as possible to allow fans to say goodbye to him before a new chapter in his life begins. The legend from Boston has already surprised the crowd several times in the first part of this season, especially with his shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber in early March (propitiated by a gesture from The Rock).

The leader of the 'Cenation' broke another record at WrestleMania 41, beating 'The American Nightmare' Cody Rhodes to become world champion for the 17th time in his glorious career. John continued to appear in the weeks following the 'Showcase of the Immortals', having no intention of taking any break despite the 'requests' of his body.

Having also participated in Money in the Bank earlier this month, the current world champion is set to face another veteran CM Punk at Night of Champions, the controversial event to be held in Saudi Arabia on June 28.

Cena wants to defend his belt and retire as world champion, but most analysts are convinced that he will lose the title by the end of the summer (perhaps at SummerSlam).

Backstage news on John Cena

According to Bryan Alvarez on the latest edition of 'Wrestling Observer Live', Cena is expected to make about 17 more appearances before his final match but nothing has been defined yet precisely.

“He’s got like, 17 dates left or something? He doesn’t have many dates left. The astonishing thing was, I was told that WWE had not worked out his exact schedule of dates leading to the end. I figured that when he announced, ‘Hey, you know I’m done,’ and they publicly said 36 dates or whatever the announcement was in 2025, I figured they just worked backwards and figured out 25 dates and had it all done at the beginning of the year. But I was told that is not the case. They are still figuring out what his last dates will be” – Alvarez explained.
