The WWE Hall of Famer, Bully Ray has come out strongly criticizing the manner in which WWE booked the return of Goldberg by surprise in WWE Raw. The previous WCW World Heavyweight champion came out in Monday night to provoke GUNTHER. The contest will be in the Saturday Night Main Event and the fans have been left mixed.
There are numerous fans who get excited to watch one last show of Goldberg. But some are dissatisfied with the way it constructed the storyline or the appreciation of the same.
Bully Ray did not spare his speech about the creative direction during the Busted Open Radio.
"Why, he said, they did not fill in the blanks just a little bit beforehand or afterwards, he had no idea."
Missed Build-Up Opportunities
Bully Ray opined that WWE might have used short segments to built the match. His feeling was that scenes with Goldberg and Nick Aldis or Triple H would have given some context. He even suggested a possible way the challenge could have been structured:
"I am GUNTHER. I do hold the WWE World Heavyweight title. I am the best. I defeated Jey Uso. I am utmost. I defy anyone who walks out tomorrow.’ Music [hits] by Goldberg. Public defiance to the world champion.”
Bully Ray suggests that the match is more of a street fight as opposed to a world title battle. He doubted the reasoning of WWE and added that he only keeps quiet when there is some sense of story telling.
"I never wrestled in the main event on Saturday night. On Saturday Night I would like to wrestle in the Main Event. Me and D'Von."
Next week on RAW I will ride over the guardrail. I will be arrested, so what. I initiated nightly riots way back then. I would like to compete against The New Day.”
The remarks of Bully Ray indicate increased anxieties about the narration of WWE. The fans are now anticipating to know how the Goldberg vs. GUNTHER match will turn out.
