Kevin Owens has posted his candid and most dire news update yet concerning neck injury that cost him the WrestleMania 41 show against John Cena and kept him out of WWE action since April.

The former Universal Champion announced that he has not had surgery that was expected of him, but that he will wait and see whether his neck can recover on its own. Medical experts believe the operation is inevitable, but the process is slow and uncertain Owens admitted, and he should approach it with patience.

Trouble surfaced first based on a harrowing January 17 SmackDown bout against Rey Mysterio, picking up speed through a torturous Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber campaign, and a spectacular crash at the end when he was forced to pull out of his gold-medal match at WrestleMania. Owens insisted on a sudden doctor's news two days prior to the SmackDown announcement on April 4, indicating how suddenly his plans changed so drastically.

A cautious path ahead

Ever since that time Owens and his teammates have been following an observational course of action- watch healing and then jump into surgery. During an open chat with le 10 Sport he admitted, “I have not undergone the surgery we are waiting to see way things naturally turn out. I clearly must have an operation, of course, but we only must see what can be done in the meantime to improve a little”.

He underlined that it is not his choice: "very slow process. I am not a very patient person but there is nothing I can do about it this time”.

In spite of uncertainties on whether he will ever again hit the ring in a wrestling match, Owens is composed. He said it would be untrue to assume that he will be coming back in the ring.

Even the WWE experts have been suggesting a recovery of six to eight months or, worse, a loss of the entire 2025 and, perhaps, even WrestleMania 42 in 2026.
