Drew McIntyre is a veteran now and fans love him because he agrees to put his own body at risk to give the crowd the best show possible. The Scottish veteran had ended up a bit in the background in recent seasons, but had recovered positions in 2024 going through one of the brightest seasons of his career.

In particular, his spectacular feud with CM Punk had helped bring him back to the top of the Stamford’s company's hierarchy and everything seemed ready for him to return to compete for the world title in the first part of 2025.

However, Triple H and WWE management made different choices and the former world champion expressed his frustration although he continued to perform with the utmost seriousness. He hasn't appeared in the ring since Saturday Night's Main Event on May 24, when he faced Damian Priest in a truly thrilling match, in which Drew was brutally hit by his rival.

After that challenge, rumors leaked that McIntyre would be away from WWE for an extended period in order to fix some previous injuries. The British ace has been absent for about a month and fans are wondering insistently when he will make his return to the ring.

Drew McIntyre is still out

In the meantime, he gave signals via a post on his official X profile.

According to rumors, Drew could interfere in the match between John Cena and CM Punk at Night of Champions, the controversial show scheduled in Saudi Arabia later this month.

In a recent interview, the Scottish star admitted that his career has entered its last part and that he is starting to think about what he will do after wrestling: “I need to figure out what's the next step. She's always talking about business ventures and the like, and I was like, I did the one thing that I always wanted to do my entire life; I don't want to do another job. So, I figure I need a bunch of hobbies. I don't know what the hobbies are yet, but I'm going to figure it out.”
