Randy Orton wasn't joking when he said that his 'prime' wasn't over yet and that he had a lot to give to this business, despite injuries affecting his performance over the past year and a half.
When he suffered yet another physical problem in the latter part of last season, it was a blow to the former world champion who had to miss some very prestigious events in the first half of the new year (including the Raw premiere on Netflix and the Royal Rumble in early February).
However, 'The Viper' never thought for a second of giving up and continued to work hard to make his rehabilitation journey faster than expected. He made his in-ring return to Elimination Chamber in early March and immediately resumed his feud with Kevin Owens, but their scheduled showdown for WrestleMania 41 did not materialize due to the serious neck injury suffered by the Canadian veteran.
The 'Legend Killer' faced and defeated Joe Hendry at the 'Showcase of the Immortals' in Las Vegas, before starting a new feud with 17-time world champion John Cena. The two legends faced each other at Backlash and the leader of the 'Cenation' prevailed, who took advantage of his heel status to keep his belt.
Randy Orton is still hungry
Randy has qualified for the final of the 'King of the Ring' tournament and awaits the winner of the match between Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso, which will determine his opponent at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on June 28.
Meanwhile, Orton prepares to break another record. Participating in the 2025 edition of SummerSlam – the most important PLE of the summer – 'The Viper' will make his 17th match in this event, definitively surpassing The Undertaker.
“At SummerSlam will be my record-setting match. I tell you what, I see me leaving MetLife Stadium with gold around my waist Michael Cole, and I'm gonna fight John Cena, I'm gonna do it at MetLife, I'm gonna have all these beautiful New Yorkers there cheering my a*s on," Orton said during SummerSlam’s kickoff event.
