Cody Rhodes is returning to his best shape after being defeated by John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 41 'Night 2', a disappointment that also affected him in the following days and caused him to take a short break from WWE.
Most fans and insiders expected that 'The American Nightmare' would be out of action for a long enough time, but he surprised everyone by appearing during Saturday Night's Main Event in late May. The former world champion – who is one of the symbolic faces of the company right now – was also among the protagonists of Money in the Bank earlier this month and will do everything he can to compete for the world title again by the end of 2025.
Meanwhile, the former All Elite Wrestling star beat Jey Uso in the semi-final of the 'King of the Ring' tournament and is set to face 'The Viper' Randy Orton in the final. This match will take place at Night of Champions, the long-awaited and controversial event scheduled in Saudi Arabia on June 28.
No change for Cody
In a recent Q&A session, top analyst Sean Ross Sapp was asked if the rumor that WWE management wants to change Cody's theme song was true.
“I think that guy has enough pull to avoid that. It’s such an integral part of his presentation and the WWE presentation in general. Like, you wanna go there and do the ‘Whoa,’ you wanna listen to the song, all that good stuff. I think that would be really bad” – Sean Ross Sapp replied.
“Now, if he wanted to change it, I’m sure that it would be changed, but I would be shocked if they changed that one. Be very shocked” – he concluded.
The character of 'The American Nightmare' has been working perfectly since returning to WWE, and there are no real reasons to make any changes right now. Fans love Cody and don't miss a single opportunity to prove it, greatly appreciating his total dedication to this business.
