Wrestling fans were sent into a bit of shock when Randy Orton and Zilla Fatu engaged in a short but momentous exchange at Fanatics Fest NYC over the weekend. While Orton was greeting fans, the young up-and-coming indie star, son of the late WWE legend, Umaga went over to greet him. It was a powerful conversation and yet brief. Orton, also called The Viper, asked Fatu about his wrestling career and said, "Did you begin wrestling? Just started? I guess I shall see you soon."

This remark has created speculation about whether Fatu would join WWE. The two embraced each other in a respectful manner after which Orton went back to his meet and greet. To fans, this was a sign of what could be a future partnership between the veteran and the rookie.

A Legacy Reborn

Zilla Fatu is a 26-year-old man who is discovering his route in professional wrestling. He was trained by Booker T and has gained a reputation in such promotions as Reality of Wrestling and 4th Rope Wrestling, and has won titles in both. He has not had an easy life having spent six years in jail after being convicted of armed robbery. Fatu was redeemed in the boxing ring. He attributes wrestling as providing him with a sense of purpose and belonging to the legacy of his father.

The style that Fatu performs in the ring is a tribute to his family. His finishing maneuver, the Super Samoan Spike is a combination of his father's signature move and the Superman Punch of Roman Reigns. Interestingly, Fatu has mentioned RKO of Randy Orton as an inspiration to the unpredictability of the move.

Fatu is a member of the Anoa family, a wrestling dynasty which includes such stars as The Rock, Roman Reigns and The Usos. As Jacob Fatu has just joined the WWE Bloodline club, the fans are excited to know whether Zilla can do the same.
