John Cena is nearing the last part of his legendary in-ring career. As each of the WWE events goes by, he is getting closer to his December finale. Coming off a dramatic title defense at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Cena now has just fifteen appearances left in his 2025 retirement tour. That is total cumulative shows, which include major events such as SummerSlam, Clash in Paris, and Crown Jewel in Perth, and other major SmackDown events across the globe.
When Cena first promised fans a full-scale farewell tour by scheduling 36 Uber-ambitious concerts earlier this year, he meant it. This time, half way in, he has already provided more than twenty of them: recent examples are Money in the Bank, Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania 41, and Backlash in St. Louis. The existing list of fifteen events ahead is an indication that the last fired-up lap of his career is here and it fulfills the vow that he had given that he would give an unforgettable farewell.
Final leg of a legendary career
This fall and winter, Cena will take the main event of such events like WWE SmackDown shows in Newark; the breathtaking two-night SummerSlam on August 23-24; a world-sprawling European tour going to Montreal, Dublin, Lyon and Paris; and October 11 Crown Jewel in Perth. His last exit? A retirement match is scheduled in the rumors, circulate in a big city in the U.S. such as Boston but there is no venue finalized.
Although Cena is putting curtain down on his 25-year career, he is unambiguous that after this tour is over, he will not be back in the WWE ring. He claims it is a farewell of a lifetime, which is motivated by the fact that he gave a promise to fans who have been with him since he debuted in 2002. It makes his performances so good, tight promos, a shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber, and an emotional storytelling that has hit a chord.
