Charlotte Flair has opened the curtain of her present WWE performance and it is courageous. She stated that her character has not resonated with people as she would have liked a few weeks after recovering in early 2025 after serious knee injury. She admitted to PEOPLE in an interview that not everything Charlotte is relatable.

The thing is that she does not only want to rule ring but to be real to fans. Flair remarked I would be Charlotte in real life. She talked of how she wanted to reveal her human side, sitting down to watch Sex and the City in sweats, with the dominant wrestler that fans are used to seeing. It is a change.

She went ahead and admitted feeling of being stripped of perfection in her visit to Sherri. Speaking about her 2024 divorce with Andrade, she added that revealing her imperfection took a massive burden. She described it as an account of redemption, a personal one at that with a balance of vulnerable and strong. What this actually implies is that she is no longer in hiding.

A wrestler striving for realness

Prior to this, WWE had experienced reemergence of The Queen at Royal Rumble 2025, as a heel, riding on her legacy and pedigree. However, she admitted that viewers did not accept that one-dimensional character, particularly in the course of her rivalry with Tiffany Stratton. It was at that point that it struck me: she had to tone it down a bit, and introduce more Ashley, girl behind wrestling character.

This is more than a brand exercise, it feels like an individual thing. Flair desires a character who is a dominant and someone to inspire as well; someone that young fans can high-five. She even said so herself: “I would also like to high five kids when I walk down the aisle”. That is a strange combination of strength and approachability.
