John Cena is enjoying every single minute of his WWE farewell tour and his appearances are certainly not disappointing fans, who have already been shocked a couple of times in the first part of this season. The legend from Boston certainly left everyone speechless when he made the first heel turn of his entire career, attacking 'The American Nightmare' Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber after a precise signal from The Rock.

Against all odds, the leader of the 'Cenation' unleashed an impeccable performance at WrestleMania 41, beating Cody and becoming world champion for the 17th time in his career (also thanks to the interference of Travis Scott).

Subsequently, John defeated Randy Orton at WWE Backlash and CM Punk at Night of Champions, the show that aired in Saudi Arabia last Saturday. His last year in WWE has just passed the halfway mark and he has less than 20 appearances left, before making his final match which should take place in Boston.

John Cena confirms

In a recent interview with 'Page Six', Cena confirmed the date of his retirement match: “Well, I don’t want to downplay the action in WWE. There’s always a bunch of action over there. Uh, and yes, I’m 48. Uh, my last match will be in mid December. We’re still trying to find out a place to do it, but uh I said 36 dates in January. We’re halfway through. Um, and it’s gosh, it’s been a lot of compelling TV, and I don’t want to spoil it for anybody, but I think we’re just getting started.”

Fans and insiders have been wondering for some time who will be his last opponent before saying goodbye to wrestling, but the Stamford company is maintaining the utmost secrecy on this subject.

In the meantime, it is practically certain that John will face Cody Rhodes again for the world title at SummerSlam (scheduled for August 2 and 3). Cena has repeatedly repeated that he dreams of retiring from WWE as world champion.
