Karrion Kross has been making noise lately, not only because of his spooky persona in the ring but what has been going on behind the scenes. Former writer Vince Russo claims that Kross is not quite popular with the WWE management, and Sami Zayn is enjoying better backstage support.
Russo did not mince words when he said on the BroDown podcast that Sami Zayn is good and Karrion Kross is not. That's easy, bro, and so fans would frequently find Karrion the more interesting star, only the backstage pecking order had to agree.
Nevertheless, the reservation is an interesting story. Kross had a head-on collision with Zayn at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia. He emerged aggressive, took control in the first rounds and appeared to be on the way to a big upset, but Zayn managed to reverse situation and win the match in the last seconds. But he did not die out.
A night later on Raw, he charged at Zayn in an angry backstage brawl, clobbering him with a steel pipe to the ribs. WWE has an evident intention of maintaining this rivalry.
What This Means for Kross
The thing is that being not in favor does not imply that WWE is writing Kross off. The various sources indicate that his contract is almost over (August) and Scarlett is also close to expiry, but still no official negotiations have been made to extend their contracts, but it appears that WWE is exploring the option to extend. They both are receiving consistent TV airtime, their merchandise is being sold, and they have feuds, all of which are indications of interest, despite the fact that no official pen has yet been put to paper.
Speaking of which, some talk of more fundamental tension. According to PWTorch, Karrion may not be used due to his lack of interest in performing what wrestlers call flat-back bumps, a style that is highly appreciated in WWE. According to some insiders, producers have rejected that story, terming it as not true.
