At the beginning of June, Nikki Bella returned to the radar of WWE, where she made a surprise appearance on RAW to advertise the upcoming all-women Evolution 2 event. She gave an emotional speech about how much progress the division has made- and then was caught out of nowhere by Liv Morgan, who hit her with Oblivion finisher. That fight was meant to start a feud of high stakes that would culminate in Evolution.
However, in a week, plans went awry. During her match with Kairi Sane on June 16 episode of RAW, Liv dislocated her shoulder and had surgery, which meant that she was completely out of the picture when it came to Evolution. Since Morgan was placed on the sidelines, the original NikkiLiv storyline was abandoned and Nikki went off air TV screens several weeks, but was seen backstage at the June 23 RAW taping.
Evolution Plans Shift, Nikki Still in the Mix
The thing is that, although WWE axed original plan, it does not imply that Nikki is out. As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has plans of featuring her in WWE Evolution 2, scheduled to take place on July 13 in Atlanta. She is still even in lead of event poster, and WWE has not forgotten her even though her storyline has been put on hold.
So what remains is some possibilities. She may also feature in a different contest, possibly in Battle Royal that WWE has announced as number one contenders. Or perhaps she will have an unexpected appearance non-wrestling segment, a run-in, or possibly a team-up with her sister Brie as Bella Twins, which the fans have been speculating over it. It has been rumored that Brie is on the radar of WWE but nothing is official.
Nikki Bella is not out of Evolution 2 yet, even though we do not know how as yet. WWE is not letting her sit on sidelines, be it in the ring or on mic.
