The first part of 2025 was full of changes for R-Truth, which ended up at the center of a series of decisions by WWE management that generated numerous discussions. The latter had the opportunity to face a legend of the caliber of John Cena in the last year of his career and unleashed a performance that lived up to expectations on Saturday Night's Main Event, before an event happened that left everyone speechless.

A few days after his match against the leader of the 'Cenation', the Stamford-based company announced its decision not to renew R-Truth's contract by firing him. All fans and insiders were shocked by this choice and there was no shortage of protests - including that of The Miz - who has always had a special relationship with him.

There wasn't even time to metabolize this news, because R-Truth shocked the world again by making his WWE return with a new name (Ron Killings). The WWE veteran has also changed his haircut to start a new experience in the Stamford federation, in which he will have a slightly different role than in the past.

New details on R-Truth

Since appearing in the ring again, the former 24/7 Champion has changed his name several times, with Triple H thinking a lot about what the best solution was.

Initially, the name R-Truth was used to advertise his match against Aleister Black on SmackDown, before WWE management decided to change to 'Ron Killings'.

On the latest episode of his podcast, Konnan revealed that the WWE return of R-Truth was being kept secret and shocked everyone: "I was in the lobby of the hotel in L.A., and some of the wrestlers were watching Money in the Bank, like got a phone or something, right, at the bar. And then all of a sudden I heard, you know, Lola Vice? She goes, 'Oh, this guy, no, no, no.' And I was like, 'Did somebody get hurt?' And then they were like, 'No, it's Ron Killings.' And I was like, 'What?' Because I was very sad that Ron Killings got fired.”
