According to WWE's original plans, Seth Rollins was supposed to defeat L.A. Knight in the latest edition of Saturday Night's Main Event which took place on July 12. However, the former world champion suffered a painful knee injury during the match and it was necessary to speed up the end of the contest and its result, allowing LA Knight to achieve a very surprising victory.

In the hours following the event, multiple speculations emerged about the real extent of Seth's injury. Some analysts said that this was not a serious problem, adding that 'The Visionary' will regularly take part in SummerSlam early next month. Other insiders pointed out that the injury was real and that he should have been out of the ring for longer than expected.

In a recent interview, the former member of 'The Shield' admitted that his participation in the most important PLE of the summer is in strong doubt, specifying that he will still be present at MetLife Stadium to support his wife Becky Lynch.

Backstage details on Seth Rollins

In the last few hours, new news about Rollins' status has emerged. According to reports from 'Fightful Select', the former world champion was set to beat LA Knight on Saturday Night's Main Event and the result was changed in real time due to Seth's sudden injury.

Everyone noticed that his problem was real backstage and it seems that WWE executives were visibly worried. It is unclear for the moment when 'The Visionary' will return to action and the company intends to keep its condition strictly confidential, but it is quite evident that its presence at SummerSlam is at risk.

Rollins had an excellent first part of the season, in which he won the Money in the Bank match and participated in the main event of WrestleMania 41 (Night 1) beating Roman Reigns and CM Punk also thanks to the help of Paul Heyman (with whom he created a new stable). His next goal is to compete for the world title again.
