For years, fans have dreamed of one more wild brawl between the Dudley Boyz and the Hardy Boyz under the bright lights of WWE. It’s the kind of match that shaped a generation, ladders, tables, chaos, and legacy. But it’s not happening. At least not in Vince McMahon’s ring.
Here’s the thing: both teams are still around, still healthy enough for a proper farewell match. But they’re not under WWE contracts. Matt and Jeff Hardy are working with TNA. Bubba Ray (as Bully Ray) is already active there, and D-Von is gearing up for his return. TNA has the rights, the time, and the will to make it happen. WWE, on the other hand, just doesn’t seem interested.
TNA Steps Up While WWE Shrugs
Bully Ray recently said it himself, if this match is going to happen, it’s going to happen in TNA. WWE had the chance and passed. There was even talk of a Hall of Fame induction for Jeff Hardy but only Jeff. He turned it down because Matt wasn’t included. That tells you everything about where WWE stands: they’re more focused on individual careers than honoring what these teams built together.
Meanwhile, D-Von’s been away from the ring for a while but confirmed he’s fit again. He’s ready. He and Bully Ray are already booked to reunite as Team 3D at TNA’s Bound for Glory. That’s no small show, it’s TNA’s biggest event of the year. If they’re calling it the final chapter, it means they’re treating this as the real send-off.
And WWE? They’re busy building the next generation. Guys like Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, and Austin Theory are getting pushed. Nostalgia acts only return if there’s merch to sell or ratings to boost. A TLC throwback just doesn’t fit their current model.
