In the weeks leading up to WWE SummerSlam, the Stamford-based promotion had worked hard to convince fans that Seth Rollins had suffered a serious knee injury during his match against LA Knight at Saturday Night's Main Event on July 12.

'The Visionary' had not appeared on TV again and had questioned his presence in the most important PLE of the summer, as well as being spotted walking on crutches during his free time. Despite these premises, several experts and insiders had advanced the hypothesis that his injury was not so serious and that he would regularly appear at MetLife Stadium leaving everyone speechless.

After CM Punk defeated Gunther and won the World Heavyweight Championship in the most anticipated match on Night 1, Rollins burst into the ring and used his Money in the Bank briefcase to become world champion once again.

'The Visionary' shocked everyone

According to reports from 'Fightful Select', very few people within the Stamford company knew the real plans of WWE management, although many expected that there could be a surprise at SummerSlam.

Triple H was very good at hiding the real extent of Seth's injury, who executed this plan to perfection and experienced one of the most memorable nights of his entire career. The most likely hypothesis is that his feud with CM Punk will continue in the coming weeks, also involving other stars and making the second part of the season truly electrifying.

The 'Second City Saint' is certainly furious, because he had become world champion once again thanks to a titanic feat and was mocked as had already happened at WrestleMania 41 a few months ago. The former AEW star has boundless pride and will get his revenge.
