The second part of CM Punk's career surprised both fans and insiders. When it seemed that the 'Second City Saint' had exhausted his rise in this business and was no longer in his 'prime', Triple H and the WWE management gave him a new chance to prove to the whole world that he is still capable of making a difference.
There is no doubt that the former AEW star has matured a lot since the beginning of his career, in which he could not manage relationships within the locker room and often generated problems that forced the management to remove him.
The long conversations with The Game before agreeing to return to the Stamford company helped Punk, who has had an exemplary attitude since making his WWE return two years ago and has also taken great satisfaction in the first half of 2025.
He participated in the main event of WrestleMania for the first time in his career, facing two other legends of the caliber of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, before working with John Cena at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia with a truly excellent performance.
Has CM Punk really changed?
The veteran from Chicago briefly became world champion at SummerSlam just over a week ago by dethroning Gunther in the main event of ‘Night 1’, but his joy was short-lived due to the sudden break-in of Seth Rollins who used the Money in the Bank briefcase against him to steal the World Heavyweight Championship.
Despite everyone praising this new version of CM Punk, former WWE star Maven Huffman has said that it is a vision that is very far from the truth.
“The new, brand new and improved, lighter side of Punk that Hunter claims he heard over the phone or he met in person and saw and said ‘Hey, let’s give him another shot,’ that’s all bulls**t. It’s the same dude. But, I didn’t think that dude needed to change anyway” – Huffman explained on his YouTube channel.
