TripleMania XXXIII in Mexico City lit up Arena CDMX on August 16. The show was packed with spectacle, high-flying lucha libre and WWE cameos but the biggest bombshell came from WWE itself. In the middle of the event, the company revealed that Worlds Collide is back, slated for September 12 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, with tickets set to go on sale August 22.

That announcement alone shifted the entire tone of the night. With around 20,000 fans packed in, AAA’s biggest event became the launching pad for another cross‑brand spectacle. The press spoke of this as yet another chapter in WWE’s strategy to blend its universe with AAA’s iconic lucha libre culture.

Surprises, Chaos and Cross-Over Sparks

Here’s the thing: the ring action was wild. The opening battle royal had a jaw‑dropping match‑up 3‑foot‑3 Microman eyeballing 7‑foot‑3 Omos. Omos powered through, dominating the contestants and landing the Copa Bardahl. That height gap over four feet is as staggering as it gets.

In the main event, El Hijo del Vikingo retained the AAA Mega Championship in a four‑way scramble against Dragon Lee, El Grande Americano and Dominik Mysterio. The match hit peak chaos when AJ Styles popped up, pulled the ref, laid waste to Dominik with a Styles Clash and allowed Vikingo to hit a 630 senton and score the win.

Elsewhere, there was a trios clash featuring Judgment Day vs. Mr. Iguana, Niño Hamburguesa and Lola Vice. Finn Balor stole the show by introducing a Demonito puppet that gobbled up Mr. Iguana’s puppet, then breaking character by chowing down on a cheeseburger mid‑match. Judgment Day’s team still prevailed.

Worlds Collide is returning, and it’s full throttle. WWE is clearly committed to building this crossover momentum. They’ve given fans a direct line between the wild flair of lucha libre and the blockbuster storylines of WWE. September 12 just became a must-watch card.
