John Cena's next opponent will not be Brock Lesnar as most fans speculated, but he will have to face Logan Paul in one of the most anticipated matches of 'Clash In Paris'. This latest event will be held in the French capital on August 31 and promises to give WWE Universe several surprises.
The leader of the 'Cenation' is no longer world champion, having lost the belt to 'The American Nightmare' Cody Rhodes in the main event of SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium, before suffering the brutal assault of 'The Beast Incarnate' who made his sensational WWE comeback after exactly two years.
The showdown between these two legends of modern wrestling has been postponed to the fall, which is why two appearances of Brock on SmackDown have already been announced next month. However, the 17-time world champion will have to focus on his next challenge against Paul, who will certainly give his best to get the most prestigious win of his young career in this business.
John Cena’s set to face Logan Paul
Since starting his WWE experience, Logan has received more criticism than he deserved and there are many who argue that he does not have the right status to face an icon of the caliber of Cena.
The latter intervened during the 'Fan Expo' in Chicago to defend his next rival, who worked hard to convince WWE management to give him a chance.
“I’ve always been one of those guys you don’t have to like. You can hate me if you want. But I’d like to think I’ve earned people’s respect. So what I’m about to say might not be the answer you’re looking for—but hopefully you’ll respect it. Do I think Logan Paul can beat me up? Yes. I think he’s got a very good chance, because he’s really good at WWE. And I know a lot of people in this room don’t like him. He’s not a very likeable guy” – John explained.
“I think he’s underrated. I think he gets a bad rap. He’s not an outsider—he belongs in WWE. I think his best days are still ahead of him. He’s got championships in his future” – he concluded.
