Steve Austin on Not Wanting to Quit Professional Wrestling

Steve Austin is one of WWE’s most legendary wrestlers. Many people around the world love him for his work inside the WWE. He is without a doubt one of the best heel wrestlers the WWE has ever produced. Austin was one of the best when it came to delivering great promos and his feud with Vince McMahon helped the WWE beat the WCW in ratings.

Some people call him the King of the Attitude Era. Austin wrestled his last match for the WWE at WrestleMania 19 against The Rock. It was a very good match, especially when we consider that Austin was hospitalized a day before the event.

Austin’s neck injuries forced him to retire early and he couldn’t have great matches with the superstars of today. On the Steve Austin show, Austin revealed that he didn’t want to quit wrestling. Not many people even knew that it would be his last match in the WWE.

"I really did not want to leave the business of professional wrestling," Austin divulged. "This is a match, WrestleMania 19, that I might have watched one time, maybe soon after it happened, but I never watched that match because I wasn't sure that I wanted to watch that last match.

But this is the match where I had the vest made, OMR, One More Round. Not everybody knew that was going to be my last match. Only a handful of us did [know]."
