Kofi Kingston on Receiving Support

There are many WWE fans that don’t like WWE Champions that the WWE selects. Then there are those that they love. Kofi Kingston is the WWE Champion that the WWE Universe loved. He won the WWE title at WrestleMania 35. He beat Daniel Bryan for the title and it was the biggest win of his career.

He defended the title multiple times and even beat AJ Styles once. He was on top of the WWE, until this week’s Smackdown. Brock Lesnar challenged him for his WWE Title. Brock managed to beat him in less than 10 seconds. Many fans believe that that was not a good way for Kofi to lose the championship.

Despite the humiliating loss, Kofi was quite calm backstage. He thanked the WWE fans for supporting him while he was a champion. He had to wait 11 years before he got the opportunity to compete for a WWE Title. "There's a lot of people out there that believed in me," Kingston explained.

"And unfortunately, I let them down tonight. But I'm still very appreciative of the support I've had since before Mania, since Elimination Chamber. The support from the WWE Universe has been incredible. And I'm just so appreciative for all of the love I've felt over the past few months.

It's been a crazy ride, my brothers in The new Day support me the whole way. "It doesn't feel very good but these trying situations are what make us grow."
