Jim Ross discusses his long friendship with Vince McMahon

Jim Ross worked for WWE, as a commentator, and for Fox Sports, where he writes commentary on professional wrestling for FoxSports.com. He was also the lead announcer for New Japan Pro-Wrestling on AXS TV and occasionally does play-by-play for boxing and mixed martial arts.

As of February 2014 Ross began hosting his own weekly podcast, The Jim Ross Report. Ross was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2007. He is known affectionately as "Good ol' JR", was widely regarded as the voice of the WWE particularly during The Attitude Era, and has been labelled as one of the greatest wrestling commentators of all time.

During the latest Grilling JR, Ross discussed his long friendship with Vince McMahon: “Well, look. Vince has overachieved his entire life in a big, big way. I got to know him very well. I still have great respect for him.

He knows in his heart that if he needed me for anything that strong, that serious, as a personal favor, or just as his friend, that I would be there. No doubt. And the same goes for me. I know that in my personal life, if something occurred that I needed to reach out to him, I know he would respond quickly and positively. So I always believe that he has a very good heart in that respect”.
