Rusev returned on the September 16 episode of Raw, where he quickly defeated Mike Kanellis. On the September 30 episode of Raw, Rusev came to the aid of Seth Rollins, after being attacked by Randy Orton and King Corbin, and was subsequently made as the second person on Team Hogan for Crown Jewel.
Later that night, interviewer Charly Caruso asked Rusev where Lana was, but he gave no response. He then challenged Rollins for a Universal Championship match. The match ended in a no-contest when Bobby Lashley returned and called someone out, who was revealed to be Lana.
The two would then make out and Rusev was forced to watch them. As part of the 2019 draft, Rusev was drafted to Raw. At Crown Jewel, Team Hogan defeated Team Flair as Roman Reigns pinned Randy Orton. In a recent interview with The Sun, the Bulgarian superstar commented on his tweet about prayers during the delay: “The frustration just grew by each hour and me asking for prayers is nothing new.
My father is a pastor, I’m a believer in God, Jesus Christ, our saviour, so I always ask for prayers just because I wanted to go home, not because we were held hostage. I don’t think anyone in their rightful mind is going to hold 170 people, American citizens, hostage, I don’t think that’ll reflect well anywhere”.
