Many fans wanted to see Ronda Rousey face Gina Carano in the Octagon. Of course, that never happened! It would have been a big payday for both superstars. Carano recently explained why she didn’t face Ronda Rousey. She met Lorenzo Fertitta, the UFC boss, and Dana White, the president of the UFC.
They made an agreement and Carano would have made a lot of money. That being said, several years had passed since her last fight. She needed time to start training and preparing properly. "(White) kept (putting pressure on through the media for Carano to sign) and kept on doing that and I'm still searching for a team and feeling all that pressure," she said on the Ariel Helwani Show.
"Then he sent me a text message that said, 'This (expletive) is effin' us around' or something like that. "I sent a text message back and said, 'I think that you sent that to the wrong person.'
And he said, 'I don't think I did' and that was the last conversation we ever had over text message because I don't think that was the kind of environment that I wanted to come back into. So I just cut all communication after that text."
That is the reason why that fight never happened. This could have taken place back in 2014, and Ronda was the Women’s Bantamweight Champion at that time.
