Ric Flair is one of the most respected former professional wrestlers in the world today. During the course of his career, he won 16 world titles. He even got to see his daughter, Charlotte Flair main event WrestleMania, which only a very small number of wrestlers have ever done.
He recently appeared for an interview for Don’t Tell me The Score. During the interview, he stated that he has been very fortunate. "I've been blessed," Flair admitted. "Winning the title for the first time in 1981, living through the plane crash."
Even though he had a fantastic career, he has also seen some horrible things happen to some to his family members. He had to see the death of his son in 2013. His son, Reid Flair, was only 25 when he passed away after a fatal drug overdose.
He spoke about the final message that he got from his son before his son passed away. "I came back from Japan and I had a blood clot in my leg. They won't let me leave the hospital but I said I have to leave as my son is only home for a couple of days.
We were going on the road," said Flair. "They released me to go to the doctor's office and he put me on blood thinners. "My son sends me a text, saying, 'Dad what would this family be [without you]? You need to be here for all of us.' And that night he died. I've never told anyone that story, except [my wife] Wendy."
