On April 7th, at WrestleMania 35, Kurt Angle was defeated by Baron Corbin in his retirement match. The following evening, in Raw, the Olympic hero celebrated his retirement from the wrestling he fought by performing his Angle Slam against Corbin himself but was subsequently brutally attacked by Lars Sullivan, who made his main roster debut.
Between WWF/WWE, Japan and TNA, Angle has won 21 total championships. He is the only pro-wrestler in history to have won the WWE Championship, WWE's World Heavyweight Championship, the WCW Championship, the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and the IGF's IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
Angle is also the only person to have been King of the Ring and King of the Mountain, as well as to have held both the WWE and TNA Triple Crowns. In a recent interview with Sportskeeda, he revealed who could main event WrestleMania 37: “The following year, I’d say Aleister Black.
Those two guys are… And Buddy Murphy, don’t count this guy out. He’s going to come on strong this next year. Those three guys are changing the game. There’s a new style and if you watch them, you’ll see what I’m talking back" - Angle said.
