Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley Idea Details

The WWE has made the match between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair official for WrestleMania 36. Flair was at “Takeover: Portland” and attacked Ripley. The attack happened right after Belair vs Ripley finished. Ripley successfully retained her NXT Women’s Title.

Triple H was part of a media call right after the event. He revealed that Vince McMahon came up with the Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte Flair idea and it wasn’t him that came up with it. He stated that he was quite shocked when he heard Vince’s idea. He was also asked whether the USA network forced the WWE to make this match happen.

"Actually, USA had no involvement in it, really at all," Triple H answered. "I believe that this was, to be honest, it was shocking to me when it was first mentioned to me. I believe that this was really just a decision from Vince's part on understanding where the other stories are going for the women. As you build forward on these things, you have opportunities where you look in a moment of time, and you go, does Charlotte go after [SmackDown Women's Champion] Bayley and Sasha Banks on that side? Does she move into that realm?”

The WWE definitely wants to put some spotlight on the best NXT wrestlers so that the brand can beat AEW Dynamite. AEW Dynamite is causing a few issues as NXT is not able to beat them easily.
