In the SmackDown episode of March 6th, Bayley and Sasha Banks defeated Lacey Evans and Naomi in the rematch, when Banks backed Naomi after a distraction on her part. After signing with WWE in 2012, she was given the Bayley moniker, and won the NXT Women's Championship in 2015.
Bayley debuted on the main roster in 2016, and went on to become a one-time Raw Women's Champion, one-half of the inaugural Women's Tag Team Champions as part of The Boss 'n' Hug Connection (with Sasha Banks), and a two-time SmackDown Women's Champion.
In addition, she won the women's Money in the Bank ladder match in 2019, and successfully used her championship opportunity on the same night from winning the briefcase to win her first SmackDown Women's Championship.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Bayley reflected on her match with Naomi at Super ShowDown: “I didn’t know what to expect. Watching Lacey and Nattie’s match from last time, it was a very introductory match for a lot of fans who had never seen women’s wrestling.
It was a great introduction to what we do, and I kind of thought that’s how it would go this time. I did a lot of research beforehand to see what I was walking into as a female athlete, and I learned that a community all-women’s soccer team just started in Saudi Arabia, which was so cool.
And I saw Naomi ‘Feel the Glow’ signs and I saw a ‘I Came for Bayley’ sign. I was in awe they were so excited to see a storyline-driven match”.
