In the episode of Raw on April 10th, 2017 Elias made his main-roster debut, appearing on the stage before the match between Cesaro, Sheamus and the Hardy Boyz (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy) against Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and the Shining Stars (First and Epic).
He returned on November 29, 2019 edition of SmackDown making fun of Drake Maverick, turning face in the process. The next week, he cemented his turn when he sang with Dana Brooke and attacked Maverick. Elias participated in the Royal Rumble match at the namesake pay-per-view and entered at #2 but was eliminated by the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.
The following Friday on Smackdown, Elias interrupted Sami Zayn and Cesaro, and thwarted an attack by Cesaro. Speaking on a recent episode of Busted Open, he revealed his disappointment over his current spot in WWE: “I always kind of have this hope that holds out that, ya know what, soon enough, they’re gonna hear the crowd, they’re gonna see what’s going on, and they’re gonna go, alright, it’s time to pull the trigger, so to speak, with Elias and make this happen.
And you know, without giving too much away here, I had a big, a very big, disappointment here as far as WrestleMania coming up. I thought some things were really going to happen for Elias, things went one way or another, and we’re not so sure what’s going on now.
But I have to check myself sometimes. Some things are out of my control. What I can control is my performance when I’m on television and if I can give 100% and standout in some way or another, sooner or later, it’s going to break through”.
