Gail Kim signed in 2009 with WWE which assigned her to Smackdown's roster. She made his debut in the March 27th episode, recorded on March 17th, attacking Maryse and Michelle McCool who were engaged in a match for the WWE Divas Championship.
In the April 10th Smackdown episode, she beat Michelle McCool. Kim participated in a battle royal on October 19 at Taboo Tuesday, which was won by Stratus. Kim, however, was released by WWE on November 3, 2004 as a result of cost cutting.
Kim was caught off guard by her release and was told that management wanted to take the women's division in a new direction. Kim wrestled what was announced to be the final match of her career on February 3, 2018 for Southside Wrestling in Stevenage, United Kingdom, where she defeated Kasey Owens in the main event of the show.
After her retirement, she accepted a role as a producer and agent with Impact Wrestling, where her role would be to work with the women that are currently signed in the company. Kim married celebrity chef Robert Irvine on May 11, 2012.
The couple met on the set of Dinner: Impossible. On October 10, 2017, Kim announced that she became an American citizen. Since she is also a Canadian citizen, she now holds dual citizenship. On the latest edition of Chasing Glory, she explained how they kept asking her to speak Korean: “Well they kept on asking me, over and over, can you speak Korean? Can you speak Korean? I’m like, no, I can’t, and then they come back to me three months later, can you speak Korean? I’m like, no, I haven’t learned the language in three months. What are you saying? It was always like, beating around the bush”.
