What were WWE's plans for Becky Lynch before pregnancy?

Raw's latest edition opened with the wonderful news of Becky Lynch's pregnancy and with the sale of the Women's title in favor of Asuka, the winner of this year's Money in the Bank. The Man revealed that she discovered she was pregnant in early April after her WrestleMania match against Shayna Baszler, which was recorded in late March, and who will give birth to her first child in December.

The pregnancy should not have affected her WrestleMania 36 match, but now new details emerge on the original plans for Becky Lynch before her happy news. In the Raw episode following the Grandest Stage of Them All, The Man held a promo that had suggested that his rivalry with Shayna Baszler was not yet over, but the champion then disappeared from the TV screens until this week.

According to the Wrestling Observer Becky Lynch was supposed to defend the Raw Women's Championship against Nia Jax a Money in the Bank; on the same evening Shayna Baszler should have won the famous briefcase and in this way the two would have resumed their rivalry for the rest of the summer.

During her amazing career, the Irish superstar won both the Raw Women's Championship and SmackDown Women's Championship, making her a double champion, the only woman to hold both titles simultaneously, and a four-time women's champion in WWE.

She lost the SmackDown title the following month, but went on to set the record for longest reign as Raw Women's Champion, until she announced that she was going on a hiatus due to pregnancy on May 11, 2020, ending her reign at 399 days.
