One of the feuds that most thrilled WWE Universe fans, at least as regards the Monday Night Raw shows that are aired every Monday night from the Performance Center, is certainly the storyline between Edge and Randy Orton.
After the initial clash between the two of Wrestlemania, in a tough Last Man Standing Match that lasted several minutes, the second big chapter of the feud between the two seems to have arrived, with a match that sounds a lot of revenge for WWE Backlash.
Just the next WWE special event has been designated as the place of revenge for Randy Orton, after the fierce defeat of the Showcase of the Immortals, with the Rated R Superstar which in the last episode of the red show aired tonight, confirmed the challenge to a "single match", launched by his now bitter enemy, only a few days ago.
Edge vs Randy Orton, therefore, becomes the first match officially announced by WWE for the next pay-per-view which will be aired next June 14th, after the long promo made by the two at Monday Night Raw, just a few hours ago.
Backlash is scheduled to take place on June 14, 2020. It will be the fifteenth event in the Backlash chronology and the first Backlash since 2018 with audience and essential staff present. The event continued annually until 2009, which was the final event until 2016.
It was brought back that year following the reintroduction of the brand extension, where WWE again split its roster between the Raw and SmackDown brands, represented by the shows of the same name. The event then continued annually until 2018 as it was canceled and replaced by Stomping Grounds the following year, but was brought back for 2020.
The 2020 event will be the fifteenth event in the Backlash chronology and feature wrestlers from the Raw and SmackDown brands.
