Scottish wrestler, Drew McIntyre now definitively knows the name of his next opponent, the one who will try to snatch the title of Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Champion from him at Backlash, next Pay-Per-View (PPV) of the company.
This is Bobby Lashley, who was already an authoritative candidate in the episode of Raw staged during the Monday night of the Performance Center. In Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment, the 34-year-old McIntyre is a one-time Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment Champion, a one-time Intercontinental Champion and a two-time Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment (WWE RAW) Tag Team Champion.
He performed as Drew Galloway outside of Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment from 2001–2007 and again from 2014–2017, most notably with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), where he was a one-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion and one-time Impact Grand Champion.
He has also wrestled extensively on the independent circuit. He is a two-time ICW World Heavyweight Champion, one-time Evolve Champion, one-time Open the Freedom Gate Champion, two-time Evolve Tag Team Champion, and one-time WCPW Champion.
During the 43-year-old Lashley's first tenure with WWE, he was a two-time ECW World Champion and one-time United States Champion. Lashley is also known for his work in Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling/Impact Wrestling, where he was a four-time TNA/Impact World Champion, a one-time X Division Champion, and one-time and final King of the Mountain Champion.
Backlash is scheduled to take place on June 14, 2020. It will be the fifteenth event in the Backlash chronology and the first Backlash since 2018.
