The latest episode of Smackdown that aired tonight will surely be remembered by fans of the WWE Universe for a long time, especially for the angle that was aired at the start of the show. After reporting about Jeff Hardy's sensational arrest for drunk driving, with the athlete who apparently would have hit Elias before crashing his car against a tree, even if some details still do not return in the reconstruction of the scene, a new surprise left WWE fans stunned.
During the Battle Royal that was announced for the blue show, in fact, Drew Gulak, (as we had already reported yesterday) and Jey Uso came back to show up. The two had been absent for a few weeks for two very different reasons.
Drew had been released, as his contract had expired and between the two parties, there had not yet been a way to re-contract in a way that suited the wrestler, thus making him pass briefly from the Alumni section of the WWE website.
Jimmy's brother, however, had been orphaned by his brother after the serious injury to Jimmy's knee, which immediately after Wrestlemania had in fact suffered a serious laceration of the tendons of a Ginocchio, with the injury that will keep him away from the scenes and especially from the in-ring action for several months.
Drew Gulak and Jey Usos' WWE return
The two athletes returned to Smackdown recently, playing a single role and also making a good impression in their match, a sign that WWE will probably continue to use them alone for its mid-card of the blue show.
The Usos were moved to the main roster the following year, and have gone on to be overall six-time tag team champions in WWE, capturing the WWE (now Raw) Tag Team Championship twice in 2014 and winning the Slammy Award for Tag Team of the Year in both 2014 and 2015.
In 2017, they became SmackDown Tag Team Champions on three different occasions, with number four coming in 2019. They were the first team to win both the WWE/Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. The Usos are members of the renowned Anoaʻi family of Samoan wrestlers, which also includes their father Rikishi, uncle Umaga, and cousins Yokozuna and Roman Reigns. The pair were previously managed by their cousin Tamina Snuka and Jimmy's real-life wife, Naomi (Trinity Fatu).
